Judder under heavy braking???
I own a 98 uk turbo with tarox 40 groove discs (g88), redstuff pads and braided hoses. For a while now, when i brake quite hard from speed, i get a very noticeable judder/vibration felt through the steering. The guy at the garage said the discs are probably scored. If so, what causes this? Ive never been on a track with the car but it does get given a hard time on the road fairly regularly . Does a lot of heavy braking cause this problem and would i need to get the discs skimmed to solve it?
Thanks. Matt.

ive got the same problem, im using brand new tarox grooved discs and brand new mintex 1155 pads, have only done 150 miles with no warping, but i get violent judder when braking hard from high speeds, my wheels are new too so no buckles, very strange...

i had mintex 1155's fitted before i went tp the isle of man, and came back with warped disks, the 1155's are race spec pads and eat disks, so tbh i expect you've got warped disks as well

interesting - still warped though lol - depending on wot sort ov discs u using i.e. oem or expensive aftermarket discs u can usually get them re-skimmed for around £15per. disc.

You can, but depending on how hot they have got with the judder, the material underneath the uneven carbon deposits on the discs would have turned to cementite and the problem will only reoccur again quickly.
It is not warping it is caused by the pad deposits when those pads have got too hot (Ferodo DS2500's do this aswell on track).
You can try skimming them and using pads such as Performance Friction and Pagid but I ended up throwing my discs away when this happened and got some good 2 piece discs (PF) and PF pads.
