Default Just noticed - dump valve problems?

Afternoon all, ive ordered a new dv off ebay and i was just taking a look at my current one when i noticed something.

Unfortunately i dont have access to a camera at the moment so ive found a picture of an engine and will try to explain what / if anything is wrong.

The arrow on the picture is pointing to the usually un-used plug on the engine. The only time you use this is for plumbing in a boost gauge - as shown in the picture.

Now on my engine ive got the hose from the standard re-circulating dv attached to this point.

Ive then got another hose attached to the adjacent plug ( the one next to the arrow ) which then attaches to my aftermarket vta dump valve.

Is this correct? I would have though that with having a vta dump valve fitted i would only need to have one cable / dv connected to the engine?

Is there any reason why this would be connected as it has been?

The car runs fine, im just curious as its something ive only just noticed.

Thanks

Adam

So your currently running a VTA AND a recirc valve, you could tee both together to the one connection, or you could tee one to the boost guage 'normally unused' port, either way no odds!

Ah right, so basically what youre saying is that both of those connectors / ports do the same job.

I was unaware of this and thought it had to be connected to a particular one! That solves the mystery anyway.

Thanks mate, much appreciated.
