Default STi 6 - Mapping Query

Have an STi 6 with an Andy F remap, uprated fuel pump and that's about it. It's running very well with nice figures (316 bhp, 312 lbft torque). But I've replaced the decat downpipe (from when it was remapped) with a sports cat (Ninja Downpipe with Fast flow Cat from Scoobyworld) -- is this going to mean I should get the car remapped?

Thanks
James

Car will run ok without a map.

Not worth the remap charge for optimising for sports cat.

I'd wait until you do other mods before you remap.

Thanks. More worried about detting (or other bad stuff) than squeezing the last ounce of performance out of the old girl if that makes a difference.

Invest in a knocklink if you're worried about det. Cheap and does the job.

You won't get det by just fitting a sports cat.

If anything the cat will restrict the flow of gasses and therefore require less fuel not more thus reducing the load on the injectors.

You'll be totally fine without mapping.

You will have increased the back pressure on the turbo which means it could be spooling faster and possibly higher, suggest you take Andy's opinion before anyone else's. Certainly I would advise any of my customers that they needed it checking. Over fueling can be as bad as under fueling btw. There's more to healthy running than det related issues. Speak to Andy.

cheers
