Hi, The faults I've read about are on the mk5
1. door seals coming away
2. stearing racks
3. rattles from the centre consol
check out the "What Car" site "readers reveiws"
Only thing is after reading all the "bad" reveiws you'll never buy any car, the're either "the best car ever" or "my first and last".
the few people I know who've got golfs all love them especialy diesel ones

My wife has a Golf TDI ...Good nippy car around town... very good on fuel and a good cruiser on the motorway. Suspension a bit soft/wallowy for me (certainly compared to the impreza).... Ohh and they seem to hold there price ... which is good when you are selling but not so good when you are buying.
