Default Advice on mods

Hello Guys im a novice to all this modding, and ive just had my scoobie for around 2 weeks, ive loved every minute of driving it. as im reading the forum i like what i see, my scoobie is 230 Bhp and already its not enough, from reading other posts i would like to get mine upto about 300 bhp, what are the dangers of jumping from 230 to 300 bhp if there are any, my scoobie model is the subaru impreza 2 litre turbo wrx, its the 2003 model.
Ive been looking at an induction kit and a superchip. The induction kit ive seen is a pipercross velocity intake system. hopefully this is compatible with my car. what sort of gains would i get if i did mod my scoobie in this way. if i did get my scoobie to 300 bhp would i need to upgrade anything else on it or would the standard parts be sufficient.
If anyone has some better advice i would be gratefull. my budget is about a £1000.
many thanks in advance.

I presume you've got an exhaust with decat and decent panel filter then perhaps a remap is worth looking at

for £1000 thers no chance of you seeing 300 i'm afraid. you'll need to do turbo, decat, induction kit (recomend a typhoon which sits in the wing) and a remap to see 300.

260ish should be possible with a pannel filter exhaust system, although doubt budget will stretch to remap as well so might struggle, plus not sure if you can put a full decat ont hat model without remap.

best bet save up a bit more and decat inductiuon kit and remap at same time

if you want to do things the right way round, start with the brakes and suspension, then mod the engine.
Upgraded Pads and disc (Dba and Pagid combination IMO)
The suspension wise
22mm anti roll bars, eibachs / AST's, ALK, drop links.
There goes your buget already.. Doh !

The onto the engine anyway.
Start with a decat exhaust, K&N panel filter and remap. Downpipe, centre and backbox first, then up pipe as well.
Should see 260-270 then.
And forget the Induction Kit !!!! absolutely no need.

Turbo change then, to say a VF34, will see just over 300 without anything else added. (apart from another tweak to your ECUTEK map)

Good luck.

Andy
