recently bought my98 somebody has taken out the orange grill things what exactly do they do.

Not a lot!!!

They are trims for the hole which seems to allow air through to the brakes.......

Thats about it AFAIK!!!!

MY98 didn't have the orange things if you have three slats. If you have two then you have a MY99 which should have the orange bits. But they don't do anything anyhow just let the air to your brakes so in teory you now have more cooling

Unless it was a late 98 car with MY99 spec

 

thanxs guys it is an 98 and it has three grills so no groovy orange thing to worry about after a close inspection why dont people just leave them out as the only thing that I can see they do is to stop the brake vent scoops from blocking??
