Default Boost sol & sensor removal

Hey everyone,

Im trying to tidy up my engine bay & i want to get rid of as much unused stuff as pos, ive got a gems ecu & apexi avcr/boost control solenoid+sensor, does this mean the original subaru parts (which are still plumbed in) are now redundant & could be removed?

hope someone can help me with this one.

What if the AVC-R is being used as a standalone unit? What will the GEMS use?...
You can remove the purge control solenoid valve and the pressure sources switching solenoid valve.

True, I read boost solenoid in the post and replyed regarding that.. where as Alan has highlighted you need to leave the map sensor as it will be using it.. doh..

Hi Simon
Long time no speak.

Bowsaaa can use the Apexi's map sensor if he wants to, but since he mentions an AVC-R as a boost controller it's more than likely the GEMS hasn't been used for boost control for some reason and so the AVC-R is probably a standalone unit..

o.k so what about the wastegate control solenoid (5), at the mo it only has one tube going to it from the intake duct, am i right assuming that the apexi control sol is doing its job?

Yep, the wastegate control solenoid won't be doing anything bowsaaa if your ecu isn't controlling boost.

8 psi sounds like your running on wastegate pressure only. Is the boost controller plumbed in and set up correctly?
