Default does oil go off?

hi guys,got a few drums of castrol rs sitting in my shed for a few years,my mate want them but we are wondering are they still ok? does oil have a use before,

oil does go off yes. If you have the batch number let me know as I may be able to tell you the shelf life it it doesnt appear on the drums

hi the batch number is H026S i think,it's the only number printed on the drum apart from spec's etc.
i have just been thinking i prob have these 5 yrs,a motor store was closing and i bought all they had left,then shortly after i bought a new scoob and just had the dealer service it using there own oils.

i cant find that particular batch, however the product only has a shelf life of 24 months so that will have passed. However it may still be in spec. Its upto you and your friend though if you want to risk it.
