I need some help
Hi
First of all. I am new to this site. It looks really interesting, there are so many topic for me to read.
Anyway. I dont own a subaru but my brother does and he drive a WRX STi type RA. I drive a starlet GT turbo but I am running a TD04L turbo and currently pushing out 200bhp but I need to sort out the mapping to get more.
I was wondering if anyone on here can help me.
My turbo has almost fallen off my car and now I need a new gasket (turbo to manifold) I have phoned up a local Subaru parts department and they wasnt very helpful.
When I phoned the other place, I was told I need the chassis number in order to get the right part.
I bought the turbo from abroad so I dont know what car it came from. all I know its a TD04L
Can anyone tell me what I need to know to order a part from a subaru garage?
These are from a 98 WRX right?
Thanks for the help.

Try Api, scoobyclinic, Zen performance, Graham Goode racing, scoobymania and many others, all independant specialists
. You will find that main dealers are extremely reluctant to deal with you unless you quote a chassis number and its a uk car

try ringing Mark.. www.LateralPerformance.co.uk
I have done some work on a Starlet GT Turbo.. and I thought the TD04 would be a nice turbo to upgrade to.. when do you see full boost?
Apexi do a Power FC for them.. just not as cheap unfortunatly as the Subaru Power FC ecu..

please dont think im **** taking but this is what i was taught re gaskets.
if its a paper type gasket a new one can be cut from a suitable material of same thickness using a template from the old gasket or turbo (once removed).
as an additional precaution use gasket sealer aswell.

The chassis number is usually on a silver plate on the near side front wing under the bonnet.
The chassis number starts with 2 or 3 letters. GC is the classic shape GF is the classic shape waggon. The bug eye will start with GD-A or GD-B or if its a waggon GG. If its a blob eye or (what some call a peanut) the code will start GD-C or GD-E.

lol
thanks anyway thedeester1, My brother has the GC8 RA, Amazing power! all the power just hits you at once!
Thanks people.
I phoned up graham goode and they are sending me one now
I never knew that the turbo is connected to a link and then to the manifold. I think I ordered the right part cos I remember that there is 3 bolts holding the turbo and the sales person said 3 bolt gasket to the link.
Lets just hope
