Angry Error Code P0131 IS THIS SERIOUS

I have a Uk WRX 2002 with modifications my SECCs unit comes up with this error code which means O2 sensor circuit low voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 1), is this serious

Lambda sensor is probably on its way out.. Its more of an emissions control device than anything else and its output is only used under normal throttle conditions, when you floor it the ECU ignores the lambda readings.
