Default Nasty noise's

Looking for a bit of advise regarding clutch, flywheel, gearbox and block compatabillity guys.

I'm in the final stages of fitting my new 2.33 to my version 5 type r. Everything went together beautifully with only a couple of minor snags along the way.

Was getting close to the point of firing it up last night so we disconnected the crank sensor and cranked the engine to make sure we had some oil pressure. The engine cranked quite slowly but I could hear a tinny scraping noise which seemed to be comming from the back of the engine. We hand cranked it a bit and it was all high and low spots and the tinny noise again. We had to bodge a bolt to make my phase 2 starter motor fit so we took that out to make sure that wasn't the cause but when we did we noticed this...

I hope it comes accross in the pictures but the clutch would appear to be rubbing on part of the gearbox.

Is this down to incompattable parts or error on my part? The resistance when hand cranking is slight enoigh that you can go past it so would I be able to leave as is and let whatevers rubbing wear down?

I suspect not but thought I'd ask anyway.

Any advice would be appreciated.
