My 01 classic has been drinking oil so i took it to subaru who said it was also misfiring and needed checking over.

After inspecting the spark plugs they found spark plug number 2 (cylinder number 2) was black and that was where the oil was being burnt.

They now tell me that the seals could of gone on the piston or valve and that the worst case senorio would be a damaged piston and even worse than that would be if the piston had scratched the bore meaning i would need a new block,????

How can this have happened??? i take good care of it and run it on optimax and i dont give it much rag very often, its an 2001 UK PPP classic with 32500 on the clock,

Any suggestions on price for each senario and is this right for a car with so few miles on the clock,

Please help cos a big bill is not what i need, i need comforting!!!!!!!
