Kangaroo jumping Sti !!!!
Hi,
Just bought my first Scooby. It's a WRX Sti version 2 on an N plate. It has a Blitz induction kit, blow off valve, NUR sper wxhaust, Hayward & Scott downpipe and an Apexi boost contoller.
I have the problem that changing gear under heavy boost the car kangaroo jumps and the boost cuts out completely. Is this normal? How can I rectify this?
Thanks very much!!!!
Nick

What fuel are you running? I had an import about the same year many years ago, if you are running around the 100 ron, it sounds like your solonoid on your boost controller, just make sure you are not trying to run excessive boost
agree with paul had a blitz sus induction kit on my 1997 Uk turbo. At times felt very hesitant and appeared to be "missing" on occasions. Looked at the ecu fault codes and there were two or three that the specialist said were probably a direct result of the induction cone. Swopped it for the standard air box and was amazed just how much better it ran. Held boost etc.......
On my way down the mod route did put a Powertec filter back on once I got over the 300 bhp mark but by this time had boost controller and remap via an apexi pcf so never had any issues from that point onwards.
Best thing to do is stick the standard box back on and judge for yourself.

Thanks guys!
I've got the original airbox with an ITG panel filter in it.
Can anybody recommend an induction kit that doesn't affect the boost as much as the Blitz SUS kit?
Has anybody else had problems with the SUS kit?
Thanks!

Stainless steel mesh kits aren't all the same - Powertec filters have a much finer mesh than the Blitz and others, and the specially designed aluminium neck straightens the air flow, as turbulent air can confuse the air flow meter and cause running problems. If you look at the path the air has to pass through inside a Blitz filter, it enters through the mesh and hits the inside of the adapter plate before going through the air flow meter. This is far from ideal.

It's always nice to hear good things said about Powertec... drop me a PM if you need any technical info on them at all.
As for £99+VAT? The RRP is £99.95 INC vat, so even better value than that...
