Default boot is soaking wet

Hi all, anyone have any ideas why my boot 98 type r is about 4" full of water just had to aqua -vac clean checked seals around boot all ok checked x2 air vents on inner wing dosn't seem to be getting in there either anyone else having same probs with all this rain.

could be leaking in from rear light cluster, I had probs with mine until I changed my light clusters and now nothing !!!

i changed my rear light clusters 2 weeks ago re-sealed surly that much water cannot come through the clusters i kid u not there was about 4" in my boot in the spare foot well and the side pockets where the jack is mounted.

Hmmm there was quite alot in my spare wheel well but not the side pocket, did you use enough sealent I got covered in the damn stuff black sh1tty stuff plus didn't have any laytex gloves lol

to right m8 that black stuff got everywhere i'm sure i put enough on.
Besides if it was leaking through the rear clusters that would explain the water in the spare wheel well but not the side pockets ,are they rear boot air vents and would it hurt to block these off, cannot see where else it could be entering the boot.

I could well be the light clusters. Mine had to be sealed twice.

it was the airvents in mine

had the clusters out soooo many times
had the spoiler off sooooooo many times

it will no doubt fill back up with water this winter lol

Mine was leaking through the mounting holes for the spoiler but only when useing a hosepipe.

nice to know i'm not the only one with a wet butt!!!!!!!!!!

what procedure did you guys use to block the vents will this cause condensation within the boot as no air flow?

The only real way to find where the water is getting in, is to get in the boot with a decent torch, and have someone spray a hose on the car, then, ask them nicely to let you out!

did not block the vents


the water was getting in around them

simply resealed them, mine were disturbed when i had the back end painted
