Default Knocklink - Just relocated it!!!

Hi all,
Got a knocklink fitted for a good 8 months now.
Had it put near the a-pillar on the vent all this time which i think mostly its a waste of time as you cant really see it constantly. I guess I've missed out many flashes!!!!

Today I relocated it right next to the rev counter which i think it the best place to put it. This area is the mostly looked at while driving fast. I have stripped the box and drilled 5 holes on the inside of the dash so it just peep through nicely.
Here is the pic...

Some ppl place them here http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...inkDisplay.jpg

No offence but thats even worse than my a-pillar location!

One other thing, why didnt knocklink include a warning tone ie when it hits orange or higher. That would be nice.

Any1 done the same or simular as me or better location?

Mike

I have mine similar to the second one down. The red light is still bright and at night it reflecys of the windscreen for a heads-up knocklink warning.

I like this position and it seems the easiest to fit, however it'li be hidden by steering wheel for me..!

I'm either fitting in corner pod or (a bit more adveturous) inside the dash binnical, ie behind clear plastic, in front of gauges). May use some led omnidirectional covers so they can be seem easier from any angle.

Only consern is will they be too bright at night and interfere with dash vision..?

Defo wont interfer with dash.

The brighter the better! gives u chance to react to it.
99% time of normal driving it wont come on anyways so a bright flash would be nice to wake u up!!!

Question

Hi all

Just wondering when you dismantle the Knocklink do you have to run some wires from the original light positions to allow relocation in the dash etc..

Also, did you leave the innards hanging loose or encase it back in the original housing.

Sorry if these questions seem simple but hey I'm a simple kinda guy!

Cheers

Dave.

Depends if u need to. I didnt. it just fit fine in the dash area of mine.

I used hot glue gun and put lots around the bulb area to secure it.
Wish i'd taken some pics of my process!
Hope this helps anyways.
