Default Who's run there DE-CATTED scoob on Traditional 4 Star ??

As above i know it's expensive (£1 + per litre) but generally higher octane the super Unleaded & a little kinder to the Old valves & seats Etc + giving better knock reduction

Pavlo, how did you cope with the larger 4* nozzle ?? Buy a funnel ?
Did you notice any difference on Knock activity or performance ??
I was thinking of mixing with optimax as its so expensive

Thanks

LOL,

My car is an import before the days of SVA conversions, no neck in the filler. Lambda sensor is fine with 4 star provided you don't run it continuously, it's relatively low lead compared to leaded racing fuel which turns the tailpipe grey.

But if you're that worried about octane, I would run optimax and carry some octane booster or methanol.

Don't quite understand this... Real leaded (as opposed to LRP) is very rare and expensive (as said). Also only 97 RON, unless it's a special mix (?) so no better than super unleaded, and lower RON than fresh Optimax. Avoid LRP which can leave deposits and clog up the fuel system. Tailpipe turns grey because lead oxide is white so mixes with black carbon etc. DL

Real leaded is at least 98 RON, which in practice is more like 99, but with high MON rating than any SUL petrol. It does allow for slightly more ignition advance that SUL.

There is a place near me that does it, it was about £1.06 per litre last time I got any, which I added NF and methanol to for running at TOTB, it was good stuff.
