Unhappy After short journey, car fails to start again???

Hi all

I am having a real problem with my 1995 WRX wagon Jap import.

If i drive for a few miles, stop the car and then restart it after 10 mins - 1 hour, the car will turn over but wont start. I then leave it again for 5 minutes and it starts first time. This means i can only use the car for long journeys and as you can imagine going to fill up with petrol is a nitemare!

I am getting to the stage where i want to part ex it as i cant have an unreliable car.

I have changed the immobiliser and had it serviced to no avail.

Can anyone help?

Regards

Ian

crank or cam sensors on their way out. May help to get them out and clean them now.

Excellent. Okay, i am not mechanically minded, is this a job i can do by myself or do i need a mechanic?

If i can do it, where are they and what do i do?

Sorry to be so thick but i am useless at fixing cars....

quick question, when it doesn't start, is it a case of the engine cranking but wont fire? that would be what I expect if cam or crank sensor are duff. It if doesn't even crank it could be as simple as dodgy battery and alternator

agree with paul, see this all the time and 9 times out of 10 its the crank position sensor (fault code 11)
