Default Boost controller OR ECU upgrade??

I now have a YRV Turbo and am looking for a little more power( SAFE )

Will a Boost controller do the trick or should i just go for the Unichip?

Obviously the unichip way will be safer on the fueling side?

Any problems i may have just with a boost controller?

My car is only running 6/7 psi so will not gain much i dont think

Boost controller about £500
Unichip about £600

you would be better off getting an ecu upgrade.. there are others not just unichip.

Depending on year it might be able to just be remapped..

Or you could get a Link, Motec ecu etc..

If the car is not mapped for the turbo and then you up the boost without the required monitoring you are asking for trouble..

That's what i thought

Unichip is the only 1 that can do anyting on my car

I dont want to spend £1200- £1500 on Motec as it's only a 1.3 Turbo and i cant justify the gains i will get for that sort of outlay

Thanks for the reply anyway

If you know someone that has a wideband sensor you could fit a boost controller and check the fueling and I would recommend a knock link..

But I'd feel happier myself with a unichip then.
