Cambelt interval
Just bought a MY00 with 41,000 miles. Dealer will carry out 45,000 mile service prior to me picking up the car. He says that 2000 models don't need a cambelt until 60,000 miles. True or bluff?? Car comes with 1 year Subaru parts and labour warranty. Is a cambelt needed at 45,000 miles???

there's a couple of good threads around that discuss this issue in great detail..!
however, generally speaking the MY00's are 4 years/60k, dependant on Chassis number. There's an X or Y towards the end of the number, IIRC Y is 60k. i think. Best to check the original thread!

Yep, '00 my's are only changed at 60k. As said "above", it depends on chassis number to be fully certain. Another check is on the actual belt numbers, but without you actually seeing this, you would not be to know, but again, it will only come to light with seeing such. IF you wish to place you r chassis number on here, I can confirm for you , but appreciate you may not want to "disclose " such online and respect your response.
