Question

OK, While driving I can hear a strange noise coming from the front drivers side of the car, the only way to explain it is that it alomost sounds like morse code!?! It only happens while driving. Only mods to the car is a full decat exhaust system. Car is a Turbo 2000 my00. ??

Sounds silly, but are the brake pads ok,are they down to the low level wear tag? Possibly that or a Cv joint is letting you know of premature failure.

Yes brake pads are fine, only recently replaced front and rears.

Thumbs up

Double check the pads.
I changed mine and got to the wear indicator 12 months later.
I was convinced it couldn't be the pads so soon but my old lead foot had done it again
May also be a stone stuck around the disk / pad area - another good reason for stripping down the brakes.
Other than that jack the car up then pull and spin the wheel looking for any "play" as a wheel bearing maybe on its last legs.
Hope you get it sorted
Chris

Well done grease monkey Must be some kind of record
Do you use two lead feet to stop, or have you got into that nasty left foot breaking habit and keep leaving your foot on the pedal

[Baclay card add mode on]
Ahh smell those twirig camp fires (or summut like that)
[Barclay card add mode off]

No that's Grease Monkey on his way home

Lol! One of the downsides of being stuck with standard size brakes unfortunately. Still, I'm reliably informed that glowing discs at night are a sight to behold!

Touareg, BTW, like the Volkswagen!

cv joint, i got a dodgy one aswell.

Buy some drilled and grooved discs, these help to shave off brake pads.

Wink

LoL @ Brun - Typical Yorkshire man, asking for titanium disks and pads to save money in the long run

Touareg (overpriced X5 copy)- should be turned into a campfire

mines started to knock too.

it knocks when i take off from a stand still, then sometimes knocks when i brake. (only when i havnt braked for a while though).

Think it must be the cv joints.
Ive shaken the wheels and suspension struts, they are ok
