i recently bought a my99 turbo. the previous owner claims to have upgraded the ecu, how can i confirm this? where is the chip phyiscally located on the car?

AE800, AE801 and AE802 are originals but it may have had a TEK remap which gets downloaded onto the OEM ECU so you wont be able to tell unless he has the invoice for it.

...and it could simply be that he's swapped an AE802 for an 801 or 800...
