i've run back into work cos my crank sensor is playing up and it won't start! any suggestions to get me home so i can have some tea?? i'm starvin.

Tea? At nearly midnight?

If the crank sensor's really jiggered, it's not going to start, period, so may be better to minimise the wasted time and call the AA, Subaru Assist, or whoever else you're with.

If it's only partially gone, try unplugging/reconnecting, or if that doesn't make any difference, unplugging/removing sensor/refitting/reconnecting.

If I were you though the first thing I'd do is call the breakdown service. If you get it going again before they get there, that'd be a bonus

it's happened a few times and i've got it booked in to have it sorted. when it happens, i leave it a bit then go back and the bugger starts straight out! so i'm hoping! i finish work after 10pm hence the tea bit! i'm really starvin now! ta for the help mate, i'll try disconnecting if it doesn't work!

Take it off. put it in fridge or deepfreeze and get its temperature down 20 mins or so and stick back on
