Hi folks, help required.
My servicing dealer pointed out a noise from the gearbox a couple of months back. This got progressively worse over the following weeks. They said they could strip the box down to look for the cause but labour alone would come to over £300 before they fixed anything or put it back in my car!!!
I opted not to get it checked out and instead took my chances that it would last a while then give in. My intention being to fit a recon box or something similar.
Anyway, the noise has now gone!!!! I have done about 6k miles, mainly motorway since and now I can't hear it. I wanted a second opinion and am now bothered there is something wrong but a dealer won't check for something that seems fine.
The whole point being, the car now has a warranty and I would obviously rather sort out any potential problems before this runs out.
Anyone had similar experiences or have an idea what could be wrong???
The noise was hard to explain but I guess it sounded a bit like a wheel dearing would. Made noise under acceleration, quiet when off throttle...
