Default Door sensor flickering help please

Hi there new to wrx and the site . It’s a 2003 blobeye . My door light on dash is flickering, also when going over bumps . I have replaced the door sensors but it’s is still happening and can’t set my alarm it’s a standered one alarm. . Could it be a short in the wiring somewhere. Or I have read somewhere the integrated unit . Hope to get sort for weekend thanks Steve

Unless it's JDM it won't have a Body Integrated unit.
If UK unlikely to be boot light switch as it doesn't appear to link into the dash light.

Each door switch has two wires to it one being an earth (black).
Make sure when the switch is removed the other wire on each doesn't make to earth.

The body integrated unit used in JDM and US cars, and which arrived with the Hatch here in the UK and Europe "integrates" a number of the electrical functions of the cars electrical system through a single "box of tricks".

For example
Headlight beam levelling

Rear fog light

Keyless access

Interior lamps

BIU has been around in the UK Legacy from MY04.

Thanks for reply. Have had a look under dash and it has a integrated unit so must be Jdm then . I had lose bolts on on boot latch done them up it’s gone out for now . Could be as simple as that . Alarm is working again now been set for 20mins

You found one of these lurking under the dash

Easiest way to tell if JDM or UK is the VIN

JDM format GDA-xxxxxx
UK format JF1GDAKD3#Gxxxxxx

where # = Year character and xxxxxx =serial number

Depends how the far your JDM's wiring is integrated into the BIU circuitry. For the Hatch the door open warning light in the combination meter is fully integrated into the BIU, where as in the early US model it's not.

Somebody previously posted that a loose door lock mechanism or badly adjusted striker plate could leave a door switch teetering between open or closed contact.
You found a loose boot lock, maybe check the rest of the door lock screws are tight.
