Default Anyone replaced Inner tie rods ?

On a 1995 wrx, attempting my Inner steering rack tie rods ( not the outer one on the hub lol ) at the weekend, seems an easy enough job, but thought id ask as usual if anything to know about before doing the job

replacement ones have a square edge so an adjustable can be used to tighten them up, not sure if originals can be removed this way

chhers

Update
Looking at part numbers they were originally different for early models, but now the same (34140AA030)

I changed mine a couple of years ago (on a 96 UK turbo wagon). If I remember rightly, at some point during the job I had to resort to using a specialist bike tool to get one of the old rods loose or tighten up one of the new ones. I'll check in the garage later, but most likely a 30mm or 32mm open-head flat spanner (much slimmer than a typical adjustable).

I would imagine the pegs on the thread side of the washer go in the same holes as the old washer to stop it rotating, and then you bend the washer outwards against one of the hexagon flats to stop it coming loose.
