Default Does anyone have a SC42 dyno graph?

Interested in the SC42 turbo for my forged 2.5 and would be interested to see if anyone has a dyno graph of their car or any car running this turbo and any feedback they could give?

Thanks

Any detail on those?

Sure the first one was a 2.5 engine as the dyno printout has a P1 personal numberplate.

Bottom one is taken from scoobyclinic website.

Top one is my mates P1, 2.0 running alcatek ecu, blobeye top mount, 2.5in exhaust.

Thanks for the info John.

To be honest, if that's actually a SC42 turbo on your mates P1 then it would suggest he's using the wrong turbo. Should really have gone with the SC38 turbo for that level, especially as he's only on a newage TMIC which will limit things anyhow.

I've seen the graphs on the Scoobyclinic website, just interested to see if there any members on here with any personal experience.

no dyno here as yet, curious though as regards to the sc42 interest, why are you not considering an sc46 or perhaps even the precision turbo?

Because I don't want to blow the bl00dy doors off!!!

Would rather aim just over 400bhp and leave a massive safe working limit as its my daily driver. 400-420 in this will be plenty for a road car. To be honest, the current setup actually works really well. It's so driveable and spools so fast it's crazy.

One of my favourite turbos for 400-450, great power band and spool is an awesome turbo imo. I bought 2 I liked it that much.
and that's on a 2.0 so on a 2.5 it would be pretty rapid.
in the wet I'd spin it in 3rd gear.
i think on a 2.5 a sc46 would be similar to a 2.0 with a sc42 as the 46 is more targeted for the 2.5, but a 42 on a 2.5 would be pretty rapid.

I was also looking for graphs of 42's but mostly to compare with other similar sized turbos. I was also in contact with SC the other week there and they didn't have any stock of SC42's but had an SC42+. I originally wanted one but i;m going smaller to save on spool. SC might have got some in since then though.

That could be a problem then to be honest. They don't seem to list the SC42 any longer so their range is:

SC36 which they list as a 380bhp turbo
SC42+ which they list as a 450bhp turbo

And nothing inbetween this if you want to stay shy of 450bhp like me!

Trouble I have is the Perrin FMIC flows very well indeed so it could actually break 450bhp and I don't want to fit a turbo that is too large for the power I'm aiming for.

That's exactly why I started looking at garret hybrids from Turbo Dynamics, Lateral, RCM, Litchfield etc, I believe they are all built by TD but possibly with slightly differing specs.

the MDX321H is worth a look, mine made 441hp vpower/20%meth and spool up was just over 1.5 bar by 3700rpm. That's forged 2.5 with wrx heads.
I'm sure you'd get 420 on vpower with excellent spool up and be nicely within limits for the 2.5

Is that the billet version? That sounds like a very reasonable spool rpm for full boost. Is that using a FMIC?

Bearing in mind my turbo which maxxed at 487 with eth seen 427 on v-power,

So whatever your turbo is rated to chop 10% off that figure so your not dissappointed,

I even have a dyno sheet of the 427bhp guestimate reading 397 bhp,

Also providing boost figures for a said rpm is a bit useless without torque figures,

You then have to take into account these figures are done on a dyno in high gear, so in 1st, 2nd you prob find car revs faster than it builds boost,

Going by how "out" the road dyno of my car compared to actual dyno i would guestimate 450bhp with my 30% ethanol tune, (487)

Bear in mind my turbo is a rebuilt sc42 so "should" perform better,

I barely crack 150ftlbs by 3k

If i was building a spooly 2.5 id expect to double that, 300ftlbs by 3k would make a great road car
