Default RCM induction kit vs Perrin Big MAF Induction kit

Hi guys,

Am looking for a new high flow induction kit for my 07 STi. Engine is forged with big turbo currently producing 425 bhp. The car has a FMIC so the kits would need to be compatible with this too.

Narrowed my choice down between these 2:

https://rogerclarkmotorsport.co.uk/s...-wrx-sti-01-07

or

https://j-w-racing.co.uk/product.php...quires_tuning_

Can anyone give me a recommendation?

I read the Perrin Big MAF kit is good for cars with large turbo's, where the turbo is 'outflowing' the stock intake system. Anyone got anymore info on this?

Cheers,

Lewis

Upscale maf needs a bigger housing on the Hawk around your figures so . ( & this is my opinion )
I would go with the Perrin ,
They do 2 versions
The short Ram & the longer version allowing filter to run down wing behind fog cover .
Again this is me
I would choose the short ram , but I wouldn’t use the Perrin filter , stick a K&N tube filter on
Much more air circulation & diameter. / I believe more than a cone , as the cone has a tip >

Been using the RCM kit for years now on every phase of my engine tuning now....it’s quality. The Perrin kit is also good but I’m not a subscriber to any behind the wing filtration set up.SJ.

I do like the look of the RCM unit but it seems very pricey for what is ultimately just a K&N filter. But I suppose it must be good to be used on the RCM cars.

As for the perrin, id only go for the short RAM kit, not the one the one that mounts in the wing. Just wandering if the Big MAF perrin version, with a suitable map, would flow more air into the engine rather than the RCM?

Thanks

Lewis
