Unless I have read all this wrong, the OP changed the air intake completely from a panel filter to forced induction intake, without mapping it in, whilst the car was under warranty, on a 2.5 known historically to have issues, from UK Subaru, who are known to to evade warranty claims as much as possible? Don't waste your money on a solicitor UNLESS.......you have a receipt from the original dealer proving that they sold you the Typhoon, and even then you would have alot of arguing in court ahead of you, ££££ costs if you lose.
On the bright side, you will have a fantastic, worry proof motor now.

interesting how he says the piston arn't ****, which they are by comparison to the old STI proper forged pistons. Stanard cars have dropped plenty of ring lands without being abused.

also interesting how he seems to suggest 17psi is the limit before you might see issue, thats only 1.17bar, not much is it.

Anything cast has brittle tendencies,
Strong yes , but that strength is compromised with certain elements

well in so many words he said there **** and can fail on a standard or modded car so that goes to prove just how good they are.
