Inlet manifold
im looking to remove and paint my inlet manifold on my 08 hatch.
anyone have any links or tips on how to do this ? It looks pretty straight forward but wanted some input into this as it’s my first time doing it.
also any tips on what paint to use would also be a great help.
thanks

I might be wrong but I dont think you can powder coat plastic as the powder is put on the metal with an electric charge like static so it sticks then baked to cue.
If I was guna pait it i would scuff it with a scotch bright pad, get it realy clean with panle wipe then use a VHT spray paint sutable for plastic

I wasn’t a sure if you could not because the majority of the inlets I’ve seen being painted/powdered have come from an sti which isn’t covered in the plastic like mine is. I’ll do a bit more research on it. Cheers mate

It's not covered/coated, it is actually plastic (or organic composite as some like to call it)

Wow! That is completely different. I know some people have swapped to an sti inlet but am
i right in thinking that it would be a turbo swap aswell for the turbo to fit onto an sti manifold ?

Haven’t really thought about it to be honest but If I did do a inlet swap what benefit would it bring to me ?.
ive got a mishimoto intercooler and was thinking about fitting a modified vf48 turbo to the car next year.
Cheers
