Default Blob eye or Eagle eye Wagon

Morning.

Recently sold my 2002 forester and am looking at getting anImpreza Wagon instead. This will be a second car so I have a max budget of£3,500 which includes any critical maintenance such as cambelt, clutch etc.

Have seen a few blobeye wagons around the 120k miles withfull service history, some with PPP but also a couple of eagle eye wagons, again with PPP for not much more.

To benefit from the lower car tax bracket I am considering uptoMarch 2006 so that puts me in range of the Eagle eye with Xenon headlights andother toys.

So my question is. Given both are with in budget, is thereany reason to choose a Blob eye over Eagle eye?

The blobs have the stronger 2.0 engine and cheaper tax, other than that they are very similar. On all models looks out for knocking shocks, leaking rocker covers, binding front brakes, rust in the sills, behind the front wheels arches and in area under radiator.
And dodgy mods.

Went to have a look at a 2004 WRX Wagon with PPP yesterday and agreed a price this morning. Just over 100k on the clock but the engine was replaced 10k ago with a documented 50k block and turbo. Also has Prodrive/Alcon brakes.

Going to collect it this evening - giddy with excitement!

Collected it this evening and other than some squeaks and rattles from the rear which i expect, the car is fantastic.

Completely different drive to my Golf GTD but very enjoyable.
