Default Help? Leaking screenwash nozzle on hard cornering

Newage Sti

I did a track day the other day and came across this while cornering hard.
The off side washer squirts out enough water (without me wanting it to) that I have to put the wipers on.
Is there a check valve that's missing/broken or do the nozzles have them built in?
Tia for any help
Phil

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated.
Do I need a subaru specific valve or will a universal one suffice?

The valves have a ball bearing type thing in them. It acts as a no return valve so the fluid doesnt go back into the bottle if that makes sense? Its so when you press button it sprays instant instead of a delay if the fluid had to travel from the bottle. I cant see tho how it would spray on its own under hard cornering

I get that also, was unsure if it was from the washers or IC spray

JDM Classics were well documented to do that in the rear window washer. Water would fly out of the nozzle and onto the glass under acceleration.

Indeed, it happened to me.

So I got one of these from Halfords:

http://www.halfords.com/workshop-too...e-valve-hfx370

You have to install it the correct way around, with the embossed arrow (you can just make it out at the bottom of the central moulding) pointing in the same direction of the fluid's travel.

I've since had no issues, after at least 3 odd years now.

Not sure if it'll help in your situation; but thought I'd mention it, just in case.

That's great thanks. I'll look into that, hopefully it's the right size.

Beaudiful!

Did you have to force the pipework over the ends of the valve i.e. was the pipes' bore significantly smaller than the valve?

Nothing that the ol' mug of boiling water with fairy liquid in couldn't have sorted.
