Daily and only Road use I wouldn't be fitting coilovers
This is an option,is there any suspension you could recommend other than coilovers?
The car isn't standard,it's around 400bhp using a twin scroll setup,6 speed jdm box,updated ARBs'&links,I've got a diff brace to fit and will be fitting updated engine&box mounts.
I don't mind a harsh ride and do hope to take it out on a few track days if I get chance.
These are the ones that got the most negative comments in the threads I read.
Some did rate them highly tho so that's why they're on the list.

I had a set on my car and thought they were ok. The a spring broke and the front shock cartridges started leaking. Replace them and within a year failed again.
I've now got KW V3's and realise how sh1te the BC's were from the start
KW v3 get some proper good reviews but at double my budget are out of my reach atm.
I've been fixed on getting coilovers but I'll have to do some reading on shox before I make the choice

I've just removed my 1 year old coilovers in favour of shocks and springs , i went with kyb agx shocks and some wr15/rt springs with matching bump stops (bought from 2pot off here ) front top mounts are whiteline kca 335 and rear mounts from a wrx sti ra , so much better on the road now then before
With that budget, miester without a doubt, a few use them now and rate them very highly, I even advised rudge to get them and I've never even tried myself and he says they actually absorb better and even better than his old stock suspension.
I look further a field when looking at stuff and you cannot find a bad word with miester tbf.
Hence I'm seriously contemplating the gt1s (lifetime internal warranty) if my other choice of coilover doesn't come my way soon.

Depends mate, I had bc coilovers which is where the issues maybe came, you've gotta take into account what the roads are like your driving where you live but I can tell you the best mod I ever done was removing the coilovers for pedders shocks and springs
I suppose the roads aren't to bad,potholes are plenty just as in most of this country these days.
I believe the shocks I have are the original ones so maybe a little tired,previous owner put lowering tein springs on the rear but standard on the front,he said this is the advice he got due to having a heavier 6 speed gearbox fitted.
The car does sit at a nice height for me,thanks for all he advise,I'll take my time and make sure I choose the right option
The miester are looking rather tempting tho.
I had Tein S-Tech springs on my standard shocks on my old Hawkeye and loved them. Good ride height, quality of ride and handling. Very predictable.
In contrast I had Tein coilovers on my 380bhp RX7 years ago and hated them. Rattled all my teeth out of my ****. WAY too stiff for a road car. I appreciate it's a different marque and I have no idea about spring rates on that car etc.
Tein are normally a bit too harsh for UK roads,
Im a with John on the Eibachs and KYB, awesome, maybe a little out of budget but isnt quality worth that little extra ?
if all it did was track work then Id say go for Coilovers, but for UK roads, its shocks and springs for me.
My dad had tein on his and i would say they were one of the more compliant coilover setups, i'm guessing it very much depends on which you go for and what spring rates, iirc his were super street and never found them harsh at all.
Tbh mine have swift springs which I believe are the uprated ones for track etc, I've drove some with mono flex also and they were quite firm but at same time absorbs the bumps ok but with your body bouncing along with them.
They corrode like a ****** too, I think they are designed for USA or Japan roads anyway, not a uk compliant coilover anyway.
The edfc is a nice feature I must admit.
Pomtless buying a coilover and not buying a good one which is in excess of £1500 at least
Do you need an adjustable spring perch? Are you going to be changing the ride height often - like different settings for different tracks? If not, what's the point of fitting coilovers? Sure, if you are spending £1500+ and getting a wide range of adjustability in rebound and compression, so that you can fine tune your setup, then great.
But if you are just looking at sub £1k coilovers that only have limited rebound adjustment, I think your money would be better spent on fixed perched setups, such as Koni inserts and Prodrive/PCA springs. You aren't paying for things you don't need (height adjustment) and they will be a better quality, longer lasting product.
Pedders are great bits of kit. Had them on my FSTI before the coilovers and rate them and the UK support very highly. No bad words said about Pedders either I believe.
Personally I went down the coilover route as it was important to me to get the ride height of the car just how I wanted it and set up the adjustable shocks to my liking. I appreciate that standard style shocks and springs will always out-last a set of coilovers, but I'm very happy indeed with my MeisterR coilovers. Has really improved how the car drives and feels over how it used to.
I echo what Busta said above too, if I was buying again I'd probably increase my budget and buy the MeisterR GT1's as they are built here in the UK by an Ex-Leda suspension specialist, can be rebuilt by him too if needed and have a lifetime (internal) warranty. That ticks a LOT of boxes for me.
I have been looking at shocks as an option,the koni work out at £600 then the springs £200(ish) then top mounts so close to £1000+ I'd also have to buy tools to fit the spring.
I do hear what you're saying tho as I would probably dial in the coilovers once and leave them at that,maybe nice to have further adjustability if I take it on the track.
Them pedders I do like,looks a good kit at a good price,like the fact that you get everything as one package and fully built up so just plug&play
Should I have concerns about having more weight over the front end with the 6 speed box,I would think the GC8 pedders set will be designed for a car with less weight on the front,would there be much difference in ride height front to back?
I've still a lot to think about and seems like endless options,I'll also see if I can up my budget if needed,I'm in no great rush to buy and want to buy right and buy once.
There was even mention of a possible meister group buy again so I'll keep looking,reading etc until I'm 100% sure about the perfect set up.
