Default Rebore/Hone required South Wales?

Evening all,

New to the forum and my first impreza build in progress...
I have acquired a red mica '00 Turbo UK in need of alot of tlc.
Suspected bearing issue led to a full engine strip, but based on the general condition of the car and all the boltwork and fixings, its turned into a bit of a restoration.

I have therefore decided to go down the popular 2.1 stoker kit route and Im looking to get some machine work done to the block halves.

I have spoken to Nik at advanced autos, as they have the package Im considering - and although he is more than willing to do the work required, he has mentioned checking locally first due to turnaround.

Now Ive heard all sorts about engine shops that can't do Scooby's as well as those saying they can and making a hash of it.

Which leads to my question, has anyone had this work done to a classic open deck block, in the South Wales area +/-30miles?

For those that have read this far, I know the limitations of the open deck and to put your mind at ease, Im not chasing high bhp here (he says ) - this is needed as a strong, reliable daily runner and I have the time and funds to explore the project and get it as I want. The block is generally very good, but I have very light surface corrosion about the size of a 5p at the top of one bore. I know exactly what's caused this and wont 'bore' you with the details - but Im told the 92.5mm mahle piston should be fine.

Any help appreciated!

Give Three Arches in Cardiff a ring, ask for Dean or Dan. You won't go wrong.

we aren't exactly local but can easily supply all parts and machine as required..............

depending on power target you may want to consider a CDB insert to your OBD
