intermittent start probs

Default intermittent start probs

hi guys i'm new here and new to subaru i got my first one yesterday as as swap for my old car and sort of a project it's a 2000 2.0l turbo i had more stickers on it than paint so owned by old lady lol anyway it had done 93k miles and it starts first time and the engine is very strong it has had work done dump valve etc i'm not that up to speed on the engines yet but learning but the issue comes when i turn it of some times it won't start and i can crank it over and over for 5 mins and nothing and suddenly will fire like nothing is wrong or sometimes maybe be shorter or longer ???? i know this may sound silly but any advice where to start looking any help would be very much appreciated 😊

Duff crank position sensor usually exhibits those symptoms.

i replaced the crank position sensor and today can't start the car out the old one back in a still cat start the car total dead lol any ideas or does anyone know any garages or mechanics in the dartford area the specialise in scoobies ???
