Default front driveshaft removal

as above, how much do you have to do to gain enough movement to slide out the hub side of the shaft.
Can I get away with undoing the castle nut/cotterpin below the front control arm and levering the control arm down, so the hub hangs loose?
Or alterantively loosen off front suspension strut and brake lines.
I'm not mechanical but needs must.
thanks
Trev

If you undo the castle nut and split the ball joint, that'll give you enough movement to get the driveshaft off the gearbox stub, then slide the shaft out of the hub.

Remember to push out the roll pin that holds the drive shaft on the gearbox stub, can be hard to spot when covered with yuck.

I have a long reach pin punch and the gear box was replaced a couple of years ago so it should pop out ok. Got a better idea of the order in which way to do it so gaining in confidence lol
