RCM or HRC Fuel Pump

I have had 2 bad experiences with hrc fuel pumps as have a number of my customers a lot of faulty ones from new out there so from experience rcm or walbro all the way!! Can not stress enough how ****e they are!

I see lots of incorrect information flying around this thread so il put a few things right.
1.HRC don't make our SWRD pumps and never have done.
2. Our old range of pumps were fine until the last batch where I had some issues. Our supplier didn't rectify them as I wished so I pulled all that stock and scrapped it. We lost over 3k at cost but I wouldn't send out inferior pumps which I disnt have confidence in. The pump which failed after 2 weeks was one of those pumps.
3. Our new "Colossus" pumps are a lot more expensive but are the best on the market and come from the same supplier as the pumps which RCM used to sell.
4.HRC also don't make RCM's pumps
5. RCM have changed supplier and no longer buy from the supplier our "Colossus" pumps come from which may explain somebody having a a couple of failures but I can only assume this.
Our new "Colossus" range of pumps are the best on the market but that is reflected I their price. We give a 2 year warranty on them first year covered by the manufacturer and the second year by us direct. We haven't had a faulty pump in our new range and I know that it's unlikely I will. That said you can get anything faulty no matter how good so it may happen on the odd occasion. That said every one of our pumps is tested at various flow rates and voltages and only makes it into stock if it passes the stringent tests they are out through. Every pump is serial numbered and is fully traceable through warranty info and also flow rates.
We learnt the hard way when our old style pumps caused us a few issues that quality is important and cost more. We could still buy in cheaper pumps and make more profit but we would rather make less and know our product is arguably the best you can buy.
It was actually Bob Rawle who helped us diagnose the issues with our old pumps from the last batch and now also now recommends our "colossus" pumps.
We renamed them as to eliminate any confusion on old style pumps to the new style pumps.
It was also only our last batch of the old pumps which had issues and only about 30 were sold. All of which have been refunded or upgraded to our new pumps. So people with our early pumps don't need to worry as they are good strong pumps and there is around 400/500 of them fitted in cars all over the Uk and in Europe and other places I didn't even know had Imprezas :-)
Hope this clears up some of the questions and statements which arnt correct

I thought you said that your supplier was the same as HRC for the pumps.(Got that wrong)
What I do know is that your fuel pumps have there own serial number and are individually tested in the UK. And come with a great warranty.
As someone who is now running your 340 colossus I can confirm that it runs perfect and a very quiet Pump.

HRC were good pumps when we sold them 3 years ago. Recent ones I can't comment on but I assume they arnt all tested individually and serial numbered.
It's the testing which eliminates any bad pumps before they can go into stock which is why with our new ones we know each pump has been through tests and passed or it wouldn't be in our stock.

What I do know is that your fuel pumps have there own serial number and are individually tested in the UK. And come with a great warranty.
As someone who is now running your 340 colossus I can confirm that it runs perfect and a very quiet Pump.

Just found this post. Mate of mines HRC pump packed up today and its the 2nd one he's had in the last 1000 miles. On both occasions he said it started grumbling then stopped all together. We had to raid his spares for his old standard pump and go back to the car and fit it to get him home. Luckily no engine damage done.
Certainly wont be risking anything other than a walbro in mine but apparently the PPP blobeye has a decent pump anyway?

Sorry to bring up an old post. I brought a collosus pump two years ago and the last few months it has been making an odd almost like grinding noise like air being forced through the lines. The grinding noise will last for ahout 10 to 15 seconds then is silent from there on. Car sometimes starts oddly too takes a while to fire sometimes it will fire straight away and sometimes fires but runs at a very low rpm for a few seconds then kicks into life. Would you suggest buying a new 290 collosus just ordered a new fuel filter to see if that helps at all too. Thanks.
