Default 2.5 engine headgasket

Hi,

I know this has been done to death but I'm so confused

I understand early 2.5l engines had headgasket problems but did subaru fix this on the later engines?
I'm looking at buying a 2007 WRX......

Thanks

If yours is the GB270 and std it should be fine, head gaskets started going when bhp went above 300

What stage are you at with yours?

I always thought when kept std they were fine,
But could be wrong
Mine went at about 24000 miles,
But it had been tweaked to 300bhp, and I just put it down to this,

I know there not the best std,
But I am still running 2.5 and love it

Thanks for the quick replays guys.

I just test drove the 2007 PPP car and to be honest it lacked something. Didn't have the same X factor as my classic.

Thanks again.

there very different mate, the 2.5 engine will seem a biut lazy compared to the 2.0. my old 340bhp classic felt faster than my 400bhp hawk, it wasnt but because of the difference in power delivery they drive very different

You're right, I think I just wasn't expecting it.

The issue is I need a Wagon and I'm struggling to find something that tops my V5 STI Wagon.

My budget is too low to do anything like that.

I might just keep running the classic and save my money for when it needs work doing. There's nothing wrong with my car I just fancied a change.
