Rockingham Track day write up...
So for my birthday a few months ago, my Mrs booked me my first track day at Rockingham
Got up at 6am Sunday morning and arrived at Rockingham just after 8. There were lots of cars already there, some on axle stands, some being loaded off trailers, others changing wheels, so i thought i had better prep mine..... coilovers turned to the hardest settings and i was ready lol
After the safety briefing we got told that we would have 3 sighting laps first, and an orderly was was formed in the pit lane

The first lot went out first, once they had completed a lap, i could see a bloke walking up our line talking to the drivers. he said 2 had already spun so to be careful
So after tour round the track we were ready to go. I was a bit nervous but soon found my stride. A few corners were pretty slippery but managed to cope OK. With each lap i found myself pushing a bit harder and was overtaking more cars than i had expected - perhaps i was getting more traction?
Anyway, after lunch i had a free 20mins with the instructor. He gave me good feedback saying i was taking good lines. He helped me out with a few corners i couldnt get quite right so after this i became more confident.
The fastest bit of the track was the bank approaching the start/finish line. In the morning, i was crossing the line at around 95-100mph. In the afternoon i was topping 110mph. It was quite exciting then stamping on the brakes down to 60 for the approaching chicane!
There were a few other scoobs there

I must say my car behaved extremely well. The PF pads and Vredestein tyres were excellent and the coilovers really worked well. Had a little bit of understeer on some corners in the damp but it was all very controlable

Lou braved the cold for 6 hours to take the shots......

She also took the video camera, but where the spectators were, it was a bit tricky to get some good footage. This was the best one...

So all in all i had a fantastic day. Managed 9mpg on the track - put in £130 of fuel
I found Rockingham to be an excellent track, some easy corners and some more challenging ones. Definatly want to have a go on another track soon!
Thanks for reading!
