Golf GTD ?

Golf GTD ?
Has any one had a drive in one of these please ?
I'm about to order one, but none of the dealers I've spoken to has one for a test drive.
The reviews I've read so far seem cool, but it'd be nicer to have a feel before the commitment.
Any advise will be highly appreciated.
Cheers

I did have a MK2 Gti 16v back in the good old 90s, but the Mrs is currently craving for some VW loving. The GTD on paper seems to tick the boxes, unfortnately can't justify buying the R for school runs.
If you know any decent UK VW Golf forums please advise, most forums are US based but I'll rather have home-grown info.
Once again, thank you.
