Just because they enter F1 doesn't mean that they won't enter the WRC, they have a lot of other business interests besides the WRC. They own Aston Martin for one.
The decision to enter the WRC (Sebastian Loeb Championship) will depend on a number of factors, will they be a factory team if so who for, will they be entering as Prodrive but using Subaru's? Who knows?

Or maybe they will just focus on the Astons, Ferraris and F1. With the current climate I cannot see them coming back to the Rally scene just yet.
Besides if they do, it will more likely be after testing a car to destruction and back just like Citroen did. Although what car is another matter entirely

Can just image Solberg drifting an F1 car into the pit lane at full lock......... with the back swinging out....... and taking Ferrari's pit crew out at the same time..... well I can dream can't I..........

i don't think prodrive own aston martin do they? (i may be wrong on that though), isn't the chairman David Richards also a director for Aston martin, but they are separate companies?
I'm not surprised by this one bit, i expected it as soon as i heard about new teams being allowed in, they would have been in already if it wasn't for the FIA moving the goal posts.
who are the others?

“The level of next year’s cost cap has risen substantially since we originally considered entering. However everyone appears committed to major reductions in future years and when one takes into account the transition proposals for new teams we are confident that we now have the opportunity to be both commercially viable and competitive. As we have said all along, we don’t want to be in Formula One just to make up the numbers.”
