A friend of his has been there a few times with his car club so it comes recommended. There's plenty of parking space so no door dingers to worry about. The diner specializes in authentic American recipes and is complimented by its decor which is also authentically American. I spoke to the manager today just to mention us going and i got told to call back a couple of days before with number of scoobs as they will rope off a section of the car park for us :-)
can`t do going to work at a weekend
Must be your treat then Gerts ..?

odd place imho, trying to be an american diner but seems more like a greasy spoon with fancy chairs. Im not sure what i really expected of the place but it just didnt come across that well, the website pictures make it look much nicer than it actually is (or was when I went) i was quite disappointed really 
Food was ok nothing special, admit it is cheap. cleanliness could do with being top of the menu, floor was sticky, menus and tables were sticky and greasy (my pet hate im afraid sticky greasy cafe's)
chef needed a few lessons in polite conversation too, the waitress said to chef that she had some orders in and was told 'well they will have to wait'
, I know she was doing something at the time but maybe the correct answer would of been along the lines of 'ok thanks I will only be a minute', especially as there were customers in ear shot.
I doubt I would go back in a hurry but that is only my feeling on the place, most people seem to think its ok.
And the car park will be good for the scoobs

I kind of agree... the web photos do make the place look better than I guess it is...
BUT, I've found the service nice and the food is good and very cheap...
I spoke to the waitress who told us that the place had been the works canteen and has been open for a few years.
She said it needed a refit, which is scheduled in soon and then it will open late
The place is run by a small team and they are always busy (a good sign), there was some sticky menus... but where else can you get food like that!

That would mean I will have to order two desserts. As I kind of had my eye on the Chocolate Hanky Panky Pie - Chocolaty biscuit base topped with vanilla & chocolate ice cream & Orio cookies.
