Yes i have 2.
One of which im selling. Its alot of cash though fella so not sure you wanna be buying it to learn.
Do yourself a favour and get yourself a decent flight sim for your PC, Phoenix is about the best. Also buy yourself a small counter rotating heli like a Blade CX2. Best training heli you could ask for.
After that, move up to a proper heli

wot Frayz said....
get yourself over to a flying club and see whats what !!!
i dont know where you live, but there is one at the back of leigh station (2 tree island) one in chelmsford, and at least one in canvey.
nitro copters are the way to go, but electric ones still offer good fun.
when you stack them though, they are dead !!! lol

As Frayz says, the Blade CX2 is a great little 'copter, ideal for the beginner.

If you buy one, make sure you pick up a spare pack of blades and possibly even a spare body shell
...... oh and a pair of skids.
A spare battery is a good idea too. One charging while you are still flying the other one.The bigger nitro stuff is pretty expensive and you will crash it....alot....guaranteed. This makes it even more expensive.

I'm actually looking at trying to hire a local village hall for some indoor flying of my Blade, no wind and with a bit of room to maneouvre. My mate can hire his for about £20 for 3 hours.
A sports hall would be ideal.

also done the nitro helicopter thing...
Great fun, very rewarding. But takes ages to get even the simple basics underway and it will cost a fortune in the process (far less than the scoob mind!!)
Every crash will be new blades, new main shaft...
