Hi Tiny, I hope you and all the crew are well, and looking forward to next years event, as I stated we are endeavouring to put on a skittles evening on the Friday prior to the event, with this in mind, they have recently built a Premier lodge Hotel approx 1/2 mile from the College. If you and the crew would prefer a hotel for the Friday and Saturday evenings I will endeavour to get some discounted rates for you all, can you give me some idea how many rooms you would want? the dates are 23rd & 24th May 2008. Naturally any members wishing to camp can as before. It was great to see you at Castle Coombe, If you come down this way for any other events let me know and I will meet you. Best regards Dave Bullen. By the way this is my retirement year as I will be 65 in July so 2009 will possibly organised by my replacement?

Personally Karen & I Are happy to stay as before @ The Halfway house iirc we already have 8 rooms booked , Dad please can you call & check mate ? ( Note we now also have confirmed dates )

2. Daves retiring doo ...Lets get our heads together & see this true gentleman out in the best ESC Styleee possible , Im thinking Complinentary shirt for him , Decorated cake etc , On top of raising lots of monies for mencap

3. WE MUST WIN ~ The canal barge holiday this time around

Just your thoughts @ this stage please , ESC Mencap 2008 Will start in ernest after xmas

Personally i am happy with the Halfway House again, i think it is a bit more personal than a Travel Lodge. Think we may need to organise some skittle practice first though.

I think the rally is over 2 days this year so we will need to book an extra night

 

Hmm this may need looking into then.

Although going by part of Dave's email to Tiny :-

I Have just got of the phone to Dave ...

Friday evening will deff be a " Skittles Evening " This is solely laid on for us ( ESC ) Only , As a thankyou from Dave & the Mencap team for our support over the years

Scrumpy cider will also be laid on for us as well , And also Sausage & Mash as an evening meal (Fri)


There is a trophy for the Winners ( Dave has it allready ) And it stands 2 foot tall

Guy's this must come back to Essex with us

Saturday's main event ( Rally) Will start & finish @ the college , Road books will be used this year with a pre planned route as in 2006

A Halt for lunch will also be included ( There maybe a little suprise here as well )

Saturdays evening entertainment @ the college as previous years

I Have other imformation regarding the other hotel , But do not want to post it just yet We need to talk mate

 

Have held off till I heard how many nights it was definitely going to be. So still only provisional from us telling them when we were there in May. It can be confirmed or cancelled either way.

Evening meal is taken care of Friday (Bangers & Mash with Scrumpy cider before , during & after) & Saturday night we'll be eating at the college. So it looks like NO PEAS.
