Apexi PFC v5/v6 MAF Settings
Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has a apexi pfc v5/v6 and has access to a hand controller, and if so, can let me in on the MAF settings used on all 3 options. so voltage and %, it would be most appreciated.

Yes thank you, i have recently acuired a v2 ra witth v5/v6 apexi pfc loom and ecu. It has yellow injectors, 2.5 botttom end and 2.0 top end. I have a apexi cable coming on monday and i would like to have a map which is ok enough to drive to my mapper. Due to the nature of my mapper he dosent map around problems so i'd like to try and diagnose and fix all issues myself.
I had a jumpy idle which has been fixed by throwing in a z32 maf and using the vg30 settings.
Just on the hunt to find out roughly what kind of timing this engine likes, i will get my wideband hooked in.
Right now the car is stinking of fuel, which is a suprise because they are stock yellow injectors, unless they have been re'cc'd, so the next task is to fish around for any vac leaks (currently idling on -0.55 on the boost gauge) my old scooby was -0.6) and then figuring the injectors out.

when you get your cable then check the air fuel corrections from the front o2. if they are all massively negative then its possible you have reflowed injectors or maybe even the fuel pressure has been tampered with. for timing I would just load the stock map and reduce by 5 degrees. keep it off boost if you have to drive it to the mapper and let them do their thing.

Cable is in the post so i shall do that.
The car is idling perfectly now that i have swapped 2 faulty coil leads, and swapped back over to v6 maf with power intake settings on the hand controller. The car isnt bucking or anything of the sort like before, just stinks of fuel, im thinking they are reflowed injectors too because even on the stock man for ej207 the car stinks of fuel.

What cut injectors still allow the car to idle near enough perfect? Wouldnt the car have trouble starting ?

no if its idling perfectly that only means it's idling perfectly, you need the wideband to confirm what the AFR is and also to see the ECU corrections from the o2 sensor to see if they are within the spec of a normal car. Even then, you could be partly running on 3 cylinders with larger injectors and 1 broken but the overall result is read by the o2/wideband as correct. The only true way to know what the injectors are flowing is to test them individually, anything else will only give you a rough approximation.

hi bludgod,
I got my hako cable and managed to connect it to the fc edit software, I have also taken a datalog.
the o2 sensor voltage is >0.7v on idle, fluctatues back to 0 (which im assuming is the short term FT trying to pass the value to the LT fuel trim) I have attached a log.
My next port of call is getting my wideband moved on from my old car, ive also brought a new sensor as the old one was messed up.
The car is idling stably and its travelling across the rev range nice and easily, without any hesitation or bucking. However i dont have big enough ***** to get high into boost without seeing my AFR's.
Based on the assessment of the AFR's im going to get the injectors CC'd, if it was way out, i think i will just purchase nismo 550cc injectors and get them sent for flow testing and cleaning as they will be much happier at around the 340 bhp mark than stock yellows.
I dislike modified injectors so i dont see the value in sending these(yellow) ones for cleaning when i have working yellow ones in my other subaru.

in that log your already seeing a knock count of 4 so I'd be tempted to leave it alone until you get the wideband on or reduce the timing by a few degrees.
You can see the o2s value moving around as it should at idle from lean to rich and back again so that all looks normal enough. The ignition timing at idle is supposed to move around it's part of how the ECU controls idle by adjusting the idle valve to control air and adjusting the timing and fuel to suit.

Yeh i suspect that random knock noise is because of a dodgy power steering pump pulley.
Im trying to find a ignition map table from a 2.5 hybrid motor so i kinda know roughly what values to push in the table for now.
so i can create my own little knock map, id like to plot rpm (x-axis) to load (y-axis) however which field correlates to the load(P0-P20)? im assuming it is airflow, if so, how do i convert the airflow values to the (P0-P20).... etc on the hand controller/ignition table ?
