Default OBD reader for JDM

Tried search but hitting a blank.

I had my engine light come on at the lights today but upon restarting Iíve not seen it since.
hadnt gone past 3k on the revs and only got to 60mph before hand as I had just left home on cold engine.

Now I had 20miles ago filled with momentum and had recently had a split rad replaced so hoping water has got in somewhere but Iíd like to buy a reader for future EMLís.

any links to budgets right up to the good stuff. Although letís be honest Iíll probably go for the cheaper one.
But need it to work on a n import.

Not a cheap one, but I have an obd link lx. I won't leave it plugged in as it did act up just once, and light up the dash in limp mode, but it has paid for itself in turning off cels alone( secondary heat pump valves. Jdm hatch.

So this will work on bug, blob, hawk and hatch JDM variants. It says on the Scoobyworld website that it's not compatible with JDM. Some clarification would be good. After one of these myself.

Cheap VAG OBD lead and laptop certainly works,
I have used a cheap U480 to read and reset codes on a few scoobs, inc hawkeyes.

I originally bought it for a UK blob, but have used it to read and turn off codes on my jdm hatch spec C.
