Default Code reader

Hi.
Could anyone recommend a reasonably priced code reader that would work with a 08 sti hatch? I bought a cheap one off eBay and it doesn’t connect with the car. I don’t really want to spend anymore than £50
Thanks

I got the Ancel AD410 a while ago. Connects fine with my 06 Impreza and has been fine with every other car I've tried connecting it to. Never tried any Impreza but my own though. It also appears to have shot up in price, I paid under £30 for mine but it's now £40. There are lots about that look identical for varying prices, I would bet they're all coming out of the same factory in China.

Thanks for the replies. The one you’ve given me the link to Don is the same as the one I bought off eBay which doesn’t connect with my car. It won’t connect with vw’s either but will connect to a focus st.

That would suggest its defective as I have one that works well with my vehicle which is no different to a MY08.

If it’s defective surely it wouldn’t work on the focus either? It’s a bit strange.

Depends what protocol Ford are using

Are you sure you have the MS309 model as a lot of them look similar

Just been out and checked it - works fine

Mine is a MS309, just been out and looked. Maybe there is something wrong with it. Would be handy to get one that would connect to all cars as my son has a vw golf and the missus has the st.

Just thought I’d let you know. I bought an Ancel ad410 and it works a treat on all cars I’ve tried it on so far. Got it for £28 which I think was a good price. Thanks for the input
