ive always had the older scoobies that needed (IMO) the standard ecru swapping out latest one syvecs
but can anyone explain the ecutek technology on the jdm Sti hatch ? I’ve read race rom ... flat shifting .... launch control.... anti lag all are possible on this standard ecu

Can still have all those features on the earlier newage cars too.
Ecutek has launch onthe early cars.
Or Carberry allows loads of features if you can find someone who will set it all up flex fuel & spark cut launch, flat shift, antilag,
think with carberry you can have two different maps as well
i know the post was about Racerom on the hatch but thats just my input, from what i know that was on the DBW cars and their ecu were more capable from factory again.

yeah I have all this on my uk hatch as I'm running racerom ,, not sure if the uk and jdm are the same ecu,s but I'm sure you can still get it all on there ,, hatch ecu is very very tuneable unlike some of the older ones ,, racerom also allows fuel flex ,,ajustable launch control via cruise control ,,, flat foot shifting and most of the other stuff you can think of

UK and JDM are different ECU's, but the JDM hatch is still drivebywire (JDM Hawks were still cable throttle but hatches are DBW).
And yes you can have map switching (allowing for a buttload of pops and bangs on the "race map"), adjustable launch control, flex fuel (by repurposing the rear o2 signal) and flat shifting.
The pops and bangs are not proper antilag though you can configure it to be fairly aggressive as its quite easy to switch back to the regular map. Normally I would move S mode to be the new I mode and then have the new S and S# modes to be the same power but with/without the sound effects.

oh well - take a read about it:
http://www.ecutek.com/Products/Trade...eROM/Flex-fuel
it's been around for a while but not something you'd make use of on a regular basis i think. Handy if you want to wire it to a switch and manually account for additional fuel octane though - pretty much a 3rd map to switch too.

The JDM GT Spec B Twinscroll Gen 4 Legacy from 2004 onwards is DBW. The "ECO" mode can be used for dual mapping and makes for some interesting performance.
It went well on mine.
