You said it had aftermarket headers but does it also have an aftermarket de-cat up pipe fitted? Worth checking the up pipe for cracks as they can well crack around the welds sometimes and fail. As above, check gaskets also.

I find it surprising that your latest mapper tweaked someone else's (scoobyclinics) map though. This is very rare. Most will start fresh with their own map.

Also as said above, get some logging software attached to your ECU like BTSSM on an android phone using a cheap KKL cable and USBOTG adaptor and do some power runs and logs. If you send this to the mapper he may be able to look into it more. Or post them up on here for everyone to give you their suggestions!!!

Sorry I got that wrong he never tweaked it did a fresh map ,what a mean is he looked at scoobyclinics map , but instead of saying there's something wrong with the car just messed about with settings to get more power ,told me once I fix the car ,the car will over boost and allsorts ,basically will drive like crap and need mapped again

Technically that could well be correct yes. If your car is currently losing boost through a problem, cracked up pipe, gasket, header issue, intake issue and restricting the turbo then once you fix the problem it could well (and probably will) overboost.

Get your car booked into a specialist who can diagnose the mechanical fault causing the restriction and look at where the whistle is coming from which could well be the problem. Once fixed, don't give it full beans as it could well overboost and lift the heads leading to premature head gasket failure.

Get something to log the ECU and monitor boost levels so you can keep an eye on things before it's remapped again.

Just out of interest, you have said already that you purchased the car many years ago from Leeds and it had been mapped years ago by Scoobyclinic to 340bhp and it's been off the road for ages as a project? Did you take it off the road or buy it as a project? Have you ever driven it at the full 340bhp power it was mapped to years ago?

Plus, has the car been stood for a very long time without being touched or run up and turned over regularly?

Just interested in timescales to see if it could indicate anything.

Car came from Leeds previous owner spent a fortune on it at the time Ast suspension etc, drove it for a few years without hassle then it went on a rolling road to be told the power was well down after the mapping episode the clutch started to make its way out so got fed up put it on the ramps bought a clutch never fitted it decided to do a full underbody restoration which after years have finally started, car has been started ever now and then always fires up first time only ever needs the battery charged

How did he tweak scoobyclinics map? would have been ecutek and they are locked to the user? has he flashed a whole new map on it?

Did it drop power before or after it was parked up? im kinda confused about the time line.

Previous owner had mod'd and mapped to 340bhp by scoobyclinic
Several years later you bought it
Changed the exhaust system
Car was RR'd to find way down on power
RR operator told you it hadn't been mapped
Separate mapper told you it had and tweaked it but still down to 313bhp
Car has then been parked up and not used for several years?

From the sounds of it the previous owner had it mapped at some point to 340bhp. You bought the car, drove it for ages thinking it was fine then had it checked and it was down on power. Sounds to me like it was down on power when you bought it then to be honest.

Personally as Gambit already suggested, I'd be taking the turbo and up pipe off completely to check that nothing major has gone through the turbo damaging the turbine blades.

If it is a Newage 16 bit ecu (Pre DBW Hawk) then that's mince,

Buy ECUEdit software & you can read, edit and write to the rom no matter who did it. This also comes with SSM logger which is very handy

I switch between my Ecutek & Carberry from depending if i want the spark cut launch.

I also have an Ethanol & V-Power Map for my Blob which i flash between myself both are ecutek,

Only a few parts of it can't be adjusted, but most of the important stuff can.

I had to get ECUtek tuner to send me multiple Eth&VPower roms with the launch RPM changed,

So i can adjust launch RPM by flashing, say 5k, 5.5k & 6k because it is not an option. You could prob adjust it in the HEX but that is proper matrix ****

Where as on carberry its literally a case of type in your number and reflash
