Mapping newbie - Remapping cost?
Hey all,
long story short ive got a uk turbo 2000 with an E3 ecu, doing a diy refurb with mods and will need a remap when done.
I was offered an E3 ecu that already has a an ecutek license and has been previously mapped for £175. The seller said that he paid £550 for the ecutek license and £300 for a remap so I thought i could save a few bob, buy the ecu and get a remap for a couple of hundred £££.
emailed nearest mapped and was quoted £400 for a remap, then told an ecutek license is £180 all in, so £580 for license and map.
If thats correct then there is no point in forking out £175 on the ecu and paying £400 to remap it to my mods.
Does this sound right??

the mapped ecu will still ideally need remapped to your vehicle specs, your just saving on the ECUtek license costs buy buying a pre-licensed ecu. Everyone is pretty much the same on ecutek license costs but different mappers will charge different rates for the actual mapping part so that's where it's worth shopping around.
