Standard ecu running decat v3 Jdm sti
Hi guys
I recently bought a sti version 3 jdm. Graphs from 2014 state car is running 314 bhp. I am just debating if it's still running this now or been reverted to standard ecu and therefore needing another ecu to compensate for decat.
Basically there were no hand held ecu devices provided with car and I don't see a fuel pressure regulator on engine bay - which I thought was required for mapping beyond 300.
I guess I'll need to look at ecu- but would this make you question whether previous owner sold the stuff and reverted to standard ecu? Car runs great though. All thoughts welcome!

My V3 managed 326 bhp with a full decat, k&n, shell v power and a bottle of nf race. I've had the car since 1 year old (10k miles). This was in 2006, it's been garaged since then as I had too many cars back then. It was a Subaru club rolling road day with about 30 cars and the U.K. PPP cars were producing about 310 bhp which was about right - some very surprised folk at my 326 bhp. I've posted the chart before but it's probably gone now with the photobucket nonsense.
I've no reason to believe it's not the standard ECU, only niggle is that it was SVA'd by prodrive as the first owner was one of the RAC directors - but back in 98 I doubt if they had the ability to do anything to the ECU.
Back on the road this year after 11 years tucked away, sailed through the mot and been out a few times this year, now on 46k miles and currently back in the garage, has been there for a few weeks since the weather turned.

Ha ha lovely!! Mine is kept in a warm garage and only comes out in dry, grit free road days. Is it ok to run these cars with decat and standard ecu? I think these ecu's can adjust the timing a little?
Diesnit cincern you at all running on a standard exu?
is there any obvious give verify if ecu is standard or not (other than ripping up floor carpet st. Hexking)

How did you keep it stored then? Just turn it over every few months? Roll it up and down the drive? Tricky balance between leaving it well alone over winter and keeping components from seizing

I'm confused here, are you saying classic uk Impreza's were running over 300bhp on a standard prodrive map? On a TD04?

Says UK PPP running 310bhp very doubtful as a standard PPP car

So if a UK car was producing 310 then the Dyno was probably out by around 50bhp

Same here, i have a prodrive kit on mine, and i can tell you i'm not running 310.
I know,I read the car is a jdm, infact I read both cars in this thread are jdm,I was quoting what Skoobie Dhu posted about the Dyno runs of the U.K. PPP cars back in the day(that's why I highlighted it in red)

I believe there are other aftermarket options that also use the same oem casing.
It might have a sticker or written on by the mapper, but the only way to tell 100% is open the ECU and take a look.

I did test drive a U.K. Classic with the prodrive pack before trying the STi V3, the U.K. PPP was a real damp squib in comparison.
